The Crow Island Stewardship Fund was established by resolution of the Winnetka Board of Education on March 2, 2005 for the purposes of “preserving, contributing to and disseminating the significance of building design in the lives of students”.  Since that time, the Stewardship Group has worked to educate the local community as well as visitors from around the world. They have also engaged in substantial research about the school and the district, providing new information about the importance of the school and its history.

In 2018, the Crow Island Stewardship Group became a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit foundation. This will allow the group to fund-raise to support education and capital projects that are beyond the scope of district life-safety matters.
